Apr 30, 2006 in My Shout Outs

Someone asked me. Or rather a lot of people ask me, what is it in clubbing for me? Why do I like it so much?

To make it simple I will post it up here once and for all.

It is the expression of my emotions through dancing, the release of frustration and everything through dance, and to scream the lyrics of our fav songs with my friends. Rather than going to Mt Faber and shout AHHHHHHHH, I like to scream out the songs in a club with friends. Ah I do get a bad throat, but much happier at the end of the night.

And I’m lovin every minute of it!

Really weird dreams I had last night. I can’t remember details now. I had to keep running, running from different people. It was as if I was a prey and there were lots of predators around me. I was even at Supercuts, where I do my hair! And I didn’t realise right up to the final moments of the dream, that I had the powers of Mystique..

What woke me up? People smsin me….*sigh* Else it would be interesting to see how I use my new found powers in the dream.

A swell Sat of gym, sashimi and board games! Gym was good and got me pretty hungry, which was the intended effect I wanted, considering I have not moved a muscle literally for a month.

Sashimi was okay, but they reduced the portions at each serving. We could or der as much as we wanted yes but given by the size of the group, what they served was like the portion for 2 or 3 at most. Quality was reasonable, service was quite bad. Attentive staff and all, but operations behind seems to be a mess. I guess I have to drop it from an A grade to a B grade, and that only means one thing. Time to source for a new champ in the arena.I will be checking out yoshi, which my mom has began supplying them with sashimi. haha.. to go eat what we supply. Interesting…See if they will give VIP card or not then i bring friends there :P

Board games started off with Taboo. Why Not play Taboo and be Happy?

Get the joke? haha okay never mind if you don’t. Taboo is just a pile of cards and you need to describe the word on the card without using any of the sub-words highlighted. Most number of cards in a fixed time wins.

Betrayal was fun too. For the first time we had all the cards opened. We had a player who always picked the chute card to the basement. Twice. Always either ended up as a traitor or the first to be killed by traitor. haha. Ben on the other hand nearly had us killed again like the previous time hah hah. While I was quite lucky somehow. MY rolls of the dice normally came out the way I want it to. Hmm… throughout the night. It is queer…

And then it is down to Lavendar food court for Mr Phoenyx’s bee hoon. He ah, no bee hoon he will refuse to go home haha..but they agreed maxwell’s bee hoon is nicer. But they don’t open till early. Like maybe 4am or something.

Tonight, DJ Gary Tee and DJ George Leong will be at the helm of things at Happy, while Why Not will have the WhyNotBoyz in action.

Either way, the street will come alive, come tonight! And so will I!

You know I was asking my didi bout this alcohol and brain thing. Cuz the only major change in my life so far is maybe drinking twice a week when I go clubbing. I don’t know if the alcohol is taking effect, or my brain is just tired. I can’t tell them apart. It is like yesterday, suddenly fatique crept in towards the last part of the game at settlers. I didn’t sleep very much the night before and I was at the gym so I was quite drained, but it hit me very suddenly. As if I felt drunk. I don’t know how to explain the sensations. It felt kinda sedating and all. And someone was asking me what wad this guy and that guy’s name and my brain refused to think. Even if one asked me what day it was, the brain doesn’t wanna think either. I’m getting quite worried bout this though. Some tell me my brain is doing selective recollation. At other times it doesn’t wanna work, and will only recall things it wants to. It seems what it needs is my getaway break. Anty also said it may be due to the alcohol also, or a combi of both. It is very strange, cuz on a weekend night if I am out but not at the clubs, at around 2 I will get very drowsy and sedated as if I drank. I would feel warm and flushed too. The only difference is probably, when I am high, I feel the same way but am more energetic and talk a lot. When I go ‘down’ like last night, I get very sedated and groggy. But drinking and eating helps revive things.

Sigh I don’t know what is happening.

101 questions with the Worker’s Party. I hope this is not considered illegal during campaigning period.

Q If your son told you one day he was gay, what would you do?

Mr Yaw: There would definitely be silence at first. I’d need to absorb the shock. But then, I’d tell him: ‘Son, I know you know best.’

Mr Tan: I would accept it. In any case, I shouldn’t be shocked if he is my son. I am not a blind parent.

Ms Lee: I would accept it because I encourage diversity. To me, it is just another sexual orientation and it is nothing to be ashamed of.

I am not saying I agree or disagree. But at least their replies do not agitate me the way PAP’s reply does.

But my GRC as usual, is lead by the heavyweight champion. So come May 6th while most of you will be voting I will be out shopping :P

It is Friday! The progress package is in. And the weekend looks set to go. I still need to do my project proposal still though! What a drag. *growl*

But then again, to hell with it. Yippie yai yay!

If I do a E-commerce (transaction based) website what sort of features should I have? Or a research based project. ARRRRGH

End of the exams for me! Well at least for now. What remains is one more towards the end of the year, and another in june which I will take in UK.

I spent quite a while chatting with ben bout still, in fact all the way past 4am geez! It was back to the basics right up to where we are today. It was nice to know a little more bout him. He’s always my little ‘cheep cheep’ heh heh..

What’s up this week? Gota do my project proposal. Work out details for my trip. Geez quite a fair bit of stuff to do, so much so I am beginning to lose track! help! By the way does anyone have a spectacle shop to recommend? I wanna get a new pair of specs, probably back to frameless I reckon. What sort of specs go well with me? I also need to replenish my contact lens solution, so even if it’s Queensway, anyone has any recommendations to a particular shop? Better yet, anyone good with styles and all, to go with me? :P

Okay weekend is pretty much lined up. I don’t know if I will be heading down to clubs on Fri. Poor DJ fren had a appendectomy yesterday so he is gonna be out of action for a while :(

Sat seems some gym finally! And a good dinner with Karen Ben and Sir Jeff after which it’s back to more board games! Sunday sees dinner with the ever lovely Anthony perhaps. It has been a while since I last saw him and yes okay okay Anthony we will do this dinner heh heh. And then it is down to Happy!

Happy : on the decks..
———-
Fri : Princess Ann
Sat : SWEAT! party feat DJ Alex Taylor (Australia) – Manga theme ($25 cover)
Sun : SWEAT recovery DJ Garry Tee (9pm-12AM), DJ George Leong (12 onwards)

In attendence is also yours truly, and a whole gang of people. It is gonna be swell I believe, party, all night long into Monday! I need to do some serious shopping soon and I reckon it is probably gonna be Monday that I have time to do so. And to finish up my darn project proposal if I haven’t already done so! :P

It feels like a Monday today cause I have been on exam leave. Heck but we are 2 days away from a good weekend. It already beckons…

How bout a joke of the week? Don’t know if I did this before but I don’t think I did. Here goes ! :

Free

The Titanic was sinking, and there weren’t enough lifeboats. So the captain had to persuade male passengers to jump into the icy waters to make room for women and children.

To the British he said, “You must act like gentlemen.” They jumped.

To the Americans he said, “You can be heroes.” They complied.

To the Germans he said, “It’s the rule.” They obeyed.

To the Japanese he said,” It’s the consensus.” They obliged.

Then came the Singaporean and they just weren’t budging until he came up with the appeal:

“Free life jackets for those who jumped.”

What a Saturday night all the way into early Sunday morning indeed. With DJ Ronnie and Jansen at the decks alternating between sets, with diva retroish and house remixes, it was packed! So packed Karen, Ben, Jamal and Joel with the Prince decided to head to the stage for 3 hours of non stop dancing! The stage was mostly cleared cause it wasn’t the usual brand of music at all. These DJs hail from newsroom bar and Mdm Wong so we can definitely relate to their spin offs. Also in the house were didi Anty, Jack, Javert and so on and so forth. Darn we forgot the pictures. Truth is, we barely had time! Noris was also around and he is sooo much fun! The shine recovery party was definitely one of the best so far and I have the DJs in command and the company to thank for all these.

And yes, Mr Phoenyx got his bee hoon *phew*

I was chatting with another Ben earlier, one of my colleagues back in OETI. He broke up with his gf recently, poor thing. But he’s gonna come and join this resident club prince at Y Not this friday and @ Happy on sunday. Club details to follow from Wednesday. This Sat the Prince shall take a break from the clubs and head for an excellent sashimi spread. Did I mention my mom is now in sashimi supplies to Jap restaurants? How interesting. Heading to an ala carte jap restaurant to eat sashimi from our side *L*

Thereafter it will be back to the board. Well, board games really. It does sound like a fun way to spend the weekend(s) right up to my trip!

Let’s do a quote of the day : Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!

Have a good week ahead!

What a twist of events today at SHINE party. The resident DJ had the schedule mixed up and did not turn up for work and was engaged somewhere else. So guess who saved the day? DJ Jansen! A big warm up for his show indeed but he had to go home get his CDs and return back. Totally unexpected, but I was looking for a good show and man what a show it was. Kicked off with Cher’s Believe, Berlinda Carlisle, Spice Girls, Gloria Estefan, PussyCat Dolls, Sugababes, Bitch Hotel, Black Eye Peas, Gwen Stefani and more!

I reallie hope he can be invited back to spin on my birthday bash. He will be at DXO on Sats till they find a new DJ but hopefully by July he will be al free. With him at the decks and all my friends around, I bet it is gonna be one swell party! Let’s just cross our fingers.

Tomorrow is Diva night, with DJ Jansen and DJ Ronnie (who spins at Mdm Wong) at the decks. Come join us! Only, at Why Not.

Darn I think my GRC is not going to be contested. Again!

Just as well anyway…

But I do hope for elections to happen more often. Know why?

So there will be more bonus packages :P

Did I mention i watched ice age 2? Twice? Never done it before with an animated film. But i enjoyed the laughs. Darn funny. I think I can watch it again juz for laughs, it makes me happy!

First time I watched i guess i was too distracted to enjoy the movie so a second one was all I needed.

April 30th is DJ George Leong’s last night at Happy. I have already planned a night there but it is today that I realise it will be his last. I was told his last Sat done over the past weekend was smashing. I suppose it is time for him to move on, but before he does I wanna catch one last performance.

I will get inviting friends over. Anyone who wanna join, do let me know :)

If I am not mistaken though the next day is a hol, entry on sundays are still free. Entries are always free for NSFs and students by the way unless they are running sweat parties and stuff.

So it should be free entry, if I am not mistaken indeed. Club line up, coming right up next.
