Life For Rent

Don’t know if I posted this up before but here goes :

Imagine there is this group of very adorable children, around 10 or so, playing on the railway that is in use. There is a signboard set up nearby as warning, but kids being kids, they didn’t care much. At the other side, there is this ugly and slightly retarded kid, playing alone on the railway that had been unused for a long time.

Imagine you are the captain of the train. You see this two groups of children, imagine you have no time to warn the children, imagine (yes yes! imagine! use your imagination!) you have enough time to quickly make a choice to continue moving the train along the planed rail and kill all the 10 adorable kids, or switch to the other unused rail and kill the ugly and anti-social child to save the majority.

What will you do?

Climbed up constitution hill here along the coastline this afternoon. Pictures will follow soon enough. It was quite a good climb. We used the sides of the hill instead of the pathway. I may like rock climbing after all. Anyone wanna try rock climbing with me?

It was lots of walking around in town and we bought stuff to cook back at the hostel. Pictures will follow once again.

I also hereby declare my gaydar is officially dead. I did not detect this couple one bit till we saw them holding hands. heh heh… cute couple though. So sweet.

An end to a sunday for now. It is back to school and assignments in a few short hours. Will catch up soon!

I haven’t been talking much bout my gaydar have I?

It has been pretty silent. It rang off once in london and once here in a supermarket downtown. That’s all. They both rang like alarm bells both times.
The incident at wales was an aj couple I reckon.

Too many str8s around me. The gaydar is somehow blocked. Been chatting with Don. Learnt he stayed like 30 seconds away from the place with the red phone booths and church I took earlier. Titled en route to museum. And till now I still don’t know what to get for the folks back home.

Let’s see, I got stuff for mei mei, ben, karen and jamal. I need generic stuff for the rest. You guys can help!!

Walking into the club! I hate to queue and pay cover charge! EWWWW. And it was darn foggy. Some may see ‘orbes’ around, if you believe in the supernatural but I honestly feel it had a lot to do with weather VS lighting.

Look at the valves beneath the bottles. One squirt is measured 25 mls so they don’t over or under squirt the booze. Can you believe that? The vodka lime was as weak as those I had in MOS. GAWD! But we did get very high on like 30 bottles of beer.

Check this out in the bathroom tub here in the floor. Now the food doesn’t look half as bad eh. Well the good news is, it isn’t ours. But we had our share of it…

Back from the day’s trip to Harlech Castle via Corris. Got a train ride at Corris and the dudes there explained to us how things have been etc. Wasn’t all that fabulous but the bus ride took us through towns and it was very scenic over all. No photos taken on the bus as such stuff are meant to be enjoyed in person. Besides the windows were too fogged up haha.

Had the best fish and chips so far on our trip. Can’t beat Freo’s fish but this is the best we have gotten so far.

When on booze, any music is good music. oh god beyonce really got me going though. it seems the brits like their rock music and originals. how do you dance to fat boy slim and sugababes original singles? i don’t know. But the booze sure knows how to!

Gosh I miss this beyonce track so much. It is a little piece of why not that I took along I guess heh heh.

It was really sunny yesterday. People tanning right out on the slopes of the uni ground! But today it is wet soggy and all. It has been raining all night and for now, all morning. Gosh how am I gonna head to classes dry?

The CLIPS programming are getting into my head. As in, they are driving me nuts! But it’s lectures in the mornings later and yeh that one is gonna need some time as well. We’ll survive I reckon.

Tomorrow morning the uni is taking us off aberystwyth to visit some castles wales is well known for. I reckon, definitely loads of pictures. Yesterday the local students were finishing up their exams and preparing for some party. They are really nice and we caught a super mario somewhere in the campus grounds so we got a few shots of that. Will post them all up one shot.

Gotta prepare for school. Just out of the shower..brrrrr. A lot of people who live in uk have been messaging me in the profiles. Maybe cause I changed my location to that of UK. Ah well.

I hope everyone enjoyed X3 back home. I will have to come back to catch it. mei mei come back fast before the show runs out yar. And we have to plan the little bday bash already

Thank goodness for music and my mp3s. They have been on 24hrs a day since I got here, keeping me company when I’m in the room. Gawd knows what it keeps company when I’m out but yes it beats having the whole room decorated to what you would like it to be. Music does it all for me.

Okay so what did I bring with me here? I have happy the dog, prince cup cake from ben, karen’s bear, and ian’s purple bear and green froggie. I am gonna sleep with a different one each night. How’s that? Will get a shot of them all one day when my room is neater hehe…

Learnt quite a bit bout CLIPS programming today. It is what we use to code expert systems. It’s something like AI. Artificial intelligence. Check out jabberwacky, at jabberwacky.com. You can chat with the bot.

Here’s what I typed to it :

Which is bigger? A cat or a dog.
If you know your Einstein, you will know that that is a trick question.
Which is heavier, a kg of corn or a kg of lettuce.
They are the same, they both weigh a ton.

It is pretty obvious which one’s the bot and which is me. Have you all heard of the turing test? I won’t go into it but passing the real turing test is still a few years away. Jabberwacky is 2005’s champion bot. It is the best in the competition, and probably in the world, yet it is still far from a human’s intelligence.

What do I mean? Try asking, which is bigger, singapore or a cat? Most humans will know the answer. It is fundamentally easy, but not to a computer. How does one input everything an intelligient human knows?

A bot passes the turing tests when a judge testing the software, can’t tell if he is talking to a real human, or a computer.

Pretty neat stuff yeh?

Been thinking of leonard these couple days too. He is such a sweet sweet guy. Though I haven’t been able to talk to him at all, he doesn’t appear to be online since I got here. I wonder what happened.

Everyone has secrets and dark pasts. It only matters as much as one wants it to be. Mystique is very much herself if you ask me, more than the other characters. Prof X may be able to play with minds and all but mystique sure can mess up everyone’s minds. Imagine one day, everyone doesn’t really know if the person next to you is who he or she appears to be. How confusing it can be. How one can walk into a bank as some top executive, get some stuff done, grab some money or something and walk out as another person and getaway with it cuz at every turn and corner, the shapeshifter shifts into something else. How do you catch someone when you don’t know who he or she is?

my other question is… ditchdog was this silent pooch… defensive.. protective of his love ones… but yet because of the fear others have from his bite… no one really dared to get closer to him. since ditchdog has now becomed a prince… is this prince a caring guy who has learnt to share his love and yet chosen to remain a prince when he could be king… or is there more to the prince.

I can’t really evaluate myself. Well I could but it doesn’t mean much and my version will be different from the rest. But it is interesting to compare and see if people see me for what I think I am. People who have known me for a while may be able to compare the two. I think my mei mei will prolly say essentially I am still the same, but everything else has changed.

As for king, though I’m first born, I don’t wanna ever be king. I reckon. Have you all heard of Sade’s Your Love Is King?

Finally got my network working! Been leeching on someone else’s wirelessly… hehe..

Well the uni comp password security is amazingly complicated. It has so MANY restrictions.Let’s just say, every dictionary in any language is loaded as filters, names, car plate numbers, combination of 2 words eg “PrinceCharles” is 2 words and will not be permitted. qwerty and zxcvbnm is not allowed. It took on average, 20 tries to have the system accept our chosen passwords. My password thankfully is not too hard to remember. I had to use someone’s name where it is not recognised as a name. Does that make sense?

Had all the admin stuff done up today. Yay. And Jansen told me he watched the preview for X3! He said it is very nice.. I am sooo jealous!

I love livng in this lil place. I love the bed and jumping from one room to another level, it is so fun! We need to get to town soon to get some stuff. Don’t know if we will even make it….

I heard of the report on the gay spa and HIV blah blah. Haven’t had time to look at it. Don’t think I will. It is the same thing isn’t it? If there is something new do drop me a note then I will go take a look..

Good morning! Another cloudy and gloomy day it seems. In a couple hours we will be out of here and be heading towards Euston for our train towards Wales. Gotta head to the showers, pack the last remaining bits and pieces, have some breakfast and off we go! Hope to have my internet connection then. I will so scream if the network is down. Choy choy!!!

Here we are, in the Penbryn halls at the university campus. We don’t have internet access in the rooms yet but I’m leeching on someone’s wireless network. I got my MSN to work but I haven’t been able to get onto the WWW yet. I need a proxy server I reckon but I have been unable to hack through…grrr

It’s cold out here, with temperatures of around 9 deg C on arrival. The train ride was pretty much uneventful. The virgin trains are really nice. We had to change trains as scheduled and it was quite different in the sense that although we all had our assigned seats, somehow everyone sat where they wanted and for a while we couldn’t get seats till the train attendent came around to assist.

Checked into the room and all. Pretty plain and the girls are complaining quite a hell lot but the guys are pretty much alright with it. I just hope there are no bed bugs! Ewww…

Some of us are gonna meet up a little later to discuss bout accomodation and all on our return trip back to London. I promised Jansen to get the remaining CD to the best I can so I’m gonna have to see where the nearest HMVs are. I’m gonna chill out for a lil while for now. See ya guys in a bit!
