Jun 12, 2006 in My Shout Outs

I’m so sorry I haven’t had time to come by here at all since I got back. It was crazy on Sat. On arrival, chatted with the guys after we walked out of the gate, waited for Sam who was pulling up at another gate on another flight some 10 mins behind us. It was all good indeed. Bought XO for my grandma, bought the cool cool David Water Game cologne. I love it! I have like 9 unfinished bottles ranging from versace blue jeans to clinique happy for me on my table. And you know what, davidoff coolwater was the only one I finished. So I took a sniff at this new one and I love it! People around me know usually I don’t bother with cologne one bit. But this is it! I feel so sexy just wearing it heh heh

On return, everyone said I lost weight. Seriously I didn’t expect so. Cause we were laden with chocolates, chips, loads of cream and cheese and fountains of fries and potatos and what not. Eat eat eat. With nothing less than a pint of beer each day. How could I have lost weight? My mom was the first to comment. Hmm maybe I shall head to the gym tomorrow to weigh myself. I will report on how it goes :P

And it was home, sorted out the presents and stuff I had to bring for people later that night. Ate. Showered. Changed and I flew to the clubs, literally. My gosh it was so nice being back. Anty didi treated me to a waterfall. Initially I thought he wanted to ‘sabo’ me. But later he said I had to drink it cause it has the flames running all over, and it’s good for people who had just returned from a trip. Something like it gets rid of whatever bad luck I brought back. I don’t know these much but its the thought that counts. Such a sweet guy isn’t he? He’s grown bigger now which is what he wants too. Yeh no longer the skinny pig he once was. Sigh I wish justin will be back soon. It will be one of the biggest things that can happen to make my didi very happy.

It was also pretty nice to see lamb chop and Kenneth down as well. First timers and they were there to take a look. I don’t know but lamb chop but I know Kenneth’s straight as a ruler but he is a very fun guy to be with and many have questioned his sexuality haha. All in all we had like what, 5 or 6 medics all in one group outside YNot which is something I have never seen hah hah. Some have sinced turned ASA, physio and what not but fact remains all are trained level 1 paramedics. Claypot was there too but it seems like it was a fish out of a water scenario for him. I don’t like going to clubs and spend 3/4 of the time looking for this person and that person. It is very very annoying. My stand is clear. I didn’t go to a club to queue, pay cover, or work my fingers instead of my feet. Any club that gives me such nonsense, I will spend my money elsewhere. Once upon a time when I first began clubbing I called 20 fellas down at any one time and it got so messed up cause I had to reply to 20 people where I am and there will be lost sheep here and there and it is very difficult to find one another in a club. In my resident club it is never hard to find me. I am always at the same location where my table is, or somewhere around if I somehow drifted from there when dancing with frens.

Like when I got pulled away by didi Anty to the rear bar. Sam and he took one waterfall together and then he said my turn is next. I wailed screamed for help. No no no, I said. I don’t wanna be drunk! But I had to take it anyway. Gosh the waterfall did have a little effect on me. I dread the flaming lambo. That one may just knock me out. Give me a break guys I’m still new kay!

And then it was down to happy on sunday, to take a look at what DJ AT spins. I’m thankful (for his sake) that he did manage to retain the crowd. He’s new and still needs to connect with the crowd the way george does. George probably brought his fans to attica, but happy seemed to have loads of new faces. Cheryl was there, so was DJ Daniel, Norris and Jaye, oh gosh I missed those 2 guys so much. I promised Jaye the blinking spider cuz I have a spare one, and next week the prince shall deliver.

Been having so much fun, my body’s still following uk timing…grrr

I have to break out of it soon. Real soon.

I’ll talk more bout the trip itself and how I felt bout it all along with the place and the people soon. Meantime I’ll dish out the last lot of photos. Until I do come across one that’s really nice and worth putting up, this will be the last lot.

The prince with Dr Liu Yong Huai who taught us fuzzy set theories and fuzzy logic, MYCIN and Uncertainty (CF)

A lil dark..darn the photographer. This one is with Dr Adrian Shaw, who’s really nice and friendly. He covered Expert Systems. If you look closely, you will see him holding onto a cricket bat. We found out he likes cricket so we got him this bat with our signatures on it as a souvenier.

This is my side of the hallway, of block 5, ground floor, Penbryn Hall where I held residence.

I like this picture. Taken just outside my door. There you see my unit number :P

And this is the interior of my room. Pretty much packed up and cleared to go cause all these photos were taken just prior to check out.

I confess. I didn’t sleep alone in my room at night…I had all my pets with me! Yay! In here, these are gifts from Ian, Karen, Ben and Pincess Rach. There were more but I packed them into the luggage already.

Just otuside our floor. Taking a breather before I had to carry all my luggage downhill…No easy feat! Many obstacles along the way. Worse than SOC..

And the final meal in london. This was at heathrow, while football was going on with Germany leading 3-2 which very quickly became 4-2 in the final moments. This is the worst pasta I have ever eaten, honestly. Hard. Sauce had minimal taste. And shreads of ham. And you call this carbonara? Which cost me 5.35 pounds? RIP OFF. The strawberry shake was sooooo sweet. Too sweet. The food on board was FAR better… You know I asked if I could change the penne to spag, and they said no. WTF. They hired morons working at the outlet. Sorry for the bitching but yes it was that bad. Too bad I was too hungry to bother.

Goodness gracious me. What a horrid train ride from Aberystwyth all the way back to London Euston. First, we had news that there were some problems with tracks somewhere so our train got delayed.

Sam had it worst. He was to depart on the train at 1332hrs towards Manchester Oxford. This will take 4 hrs. So that’s 1730hrs. He will then need to take a train or some form of transport to Manchester Airport where his flight is due to depart at 1930hrs. He would have been able to make it but due to track issues, he got delayed and missed his flight. It is probable that we will be seeing him in heathrow for the flight back instead.

As for us, we were due to be on the train at 1732hrs but we only got to leave just after 6, due to arrive in Euston at 2200hrs. Actual time of arrival? 0001hrs. And the Mac with the internet connection is closed and I can’t check in online tonight. ARRRRGH.

Have never had such a bad train ride before. We had to change at unscheduled stops, waiting here waiting there but the good thing is we still had a train back to Euston still. Could have been worse.

And my bags are soooo heavy! CHRIST. There wasn’t anyone else who could handle my bag and I am not kidding. Thank goodness for the strength I have. Sigh.

And the hotel. Good gawd I shan’t even begin whinning about it…I am gonna repack my bags, which are downstairs and I am 4 floors up… take a shower and get to sleep. Check in online tomorrow morning, if I am still alive.. and head to Camden market one last time before we make our way back to the hotel and grab our bags and make our way towards Heathrow.

Ah well I had better start moving. It’s late and I’m tired. Very tired. Damn exam. Damn train. Damn hotel. Damn Mac. Damn Damn Damn!

I’ll pen a few notes again when we’re airborne after take off.

Scheduled time of departure : June 9th 2125hrs
Carrier : British Airways – Terminal 4 London Heathrow
Scheduled time of arrival : June 10th 1715hrs Terminal 1 Changi Airport

~~0232hrs

Good evening everyone! We’re all checked in at heathrow now. Just saw the match Germany was in at 82 mins. 3-2 was the score which very quickly became 4-2. Good start for the host team I reckon.

The train ride wasn’t that bad at all. Not for us at least. Arrived 45 mins ahead of schedule, while another travelling direct from Aberystwyth to Heathrow got delayed so she will have to catch a later plane. If its possible. Hopefully.

Not a full flight tonight but plenty of cargo I hear. I checked in online earlier and I choose a window seat so I will not be disturbed throughout the flight. The seat next to me (36B) is currently still unoccupied. Crossing my fingers that it will stay so.

Have got penne carbonara in front of me with the strawberry milkshake. The pasta cost me 5.35 pounds and it is the worst pasta i have ever eaten. Honestly. It tastes something like someone’s first try at cooking. It is that bad yes, especially when it comes from someone who isn’t fussy with food.

Ah well hope I will have a good flight. See ya all in a bit! This has been the prince reporting from heathrow airport, london, uk.

~~1901hrs

Good evening! We’re airborne right now. Had loads of congestion at the boarding gate and a long queue of about 8 aircraft on the left and 6 on the right waiting at the run way so we’re a tad bit late. Our flight path tonight will take us through several parts of europe including Brussels and Luxembourg for now.

Dinner will be served in a while with breakfast on just before our descend into Singapore. Hmmm breakfast in the mid afternoon? Interesting.

We have some head wind right now which should be changing into tail wind in a while which is usual at this time of the year along this route, hence a shorter flight time as compared from my trip to London.

Inflight entertainment is gonna be quite interesting I reckon. Loads of movies to catch. Darn how am I gonna sleep this way?? Hahaha… Let’s see. We’ll have brokeback mountain (from May cycle), Firewall (first one I am catching), Failure to launch, The Perfect Storm and Eight Below. Wow.

Flights into UK has pink panther and King Kong as their block buster hits only. Okay now I shall sit back relax and enjoy the flight as much as I can while sipping on my whiskey coke. Neh I’m just kidding hah hah..

Thank goodness I managed to get away with the baggage load. I flew in with a total combined weight of 24kg. I am flying out with a total combined weight of 46kg (24kg baggage, 22kg hand carry). Imagine the abrasions on my shoulders from carrying the hand luggage while pretending it is light cause I am only suppose to take in 7kg of hand carry..

You fellas better appreciate the darn chocolates! :)

I’ll come back just before we begin our descend. Meantime, cheers!

Well good morning once again *yawn*… we’re still up here. 37000 fet with 1 hr and 5 mins to go before landing. Gosh I slept all the way through! Darn I missed the other shows! The entertainment system screwed up a little and I sorta dozed off even before Firewall was done. And I slept all the way from then till now! And it is prolly like what, 9 hours? Had never done that before in my life. I can go clubbing later full force! Yay!

Oh yeh that also meant I slept through the crew turning on all the lights and serving breakfast. When I woke up they were already clearing trays. Shows how tired I must have been to sleep through all that!

I’m seated next to the window at A. I don’t know, most people love aisle seats. I am happy with the window, cause I can lean against the window and be undisturbed. Who needs toilets! Duh. Even on a 12 hr flight. The prince has a big bladder heh heh… And yeh I have an empty seat next to me so it was quite fun. Good flight overall though we had a little turbulence here and there and I remember waking up halfway to fasten my seat belt.. :P The crew’s pretty friendly. I like them better than Qantas actually. They checked if I needed any food and were pretty accomodating to requests and complaints. Brilliant. The prince recommends BA. There is this world traveller plus class too. Seems like an in between the world traveller (economy) and business class. Worth checking it out!

The prince is nearly home guys! It’s been a good flight. On arrival I am gonna purchase some cologne. You know, I have like 8 open bottles at home and I don’t even use them anymore. Bored me too much and I kinda prefer my own natural scent (not stench okay hah hah!!) But we tried out some new ones at heathrow and I fell in love with one of them. It smelt sexy so I’m gonna get it in Changi.

We’re still flying over water just next to the eastern coast of malaysia. We should be over land in a few minutes before making a turn towards Singapore past the state of Johor.

Gonna pack up and chill a little before we begin our descend. Talk to you all soon!

And the exams are now over. How did it go? Not as good as I hoped to be that much I can say.

One day down, it means I am crawling towards the date of my return to SG. Return to haunt all of you and to create chaos again! haha I hope you all have enjoyed your peace so far cause it is not gonna last long unfortunately. I think.

Don’t worry you still have time to enjoy the peace.. :P

I will miss this place. No matter how lok cock it is. No matter how cumbersome it is to climb up and down the hill. It’s been a blast. It really is. And I am now ready to start a new life. Literally. In most aspects.

I will still be a club whore. hah hah. But maybe this time round, instead of being on the ground, I’ll walk up to the deck?

See ya all in a bit. Gonna look through london one last time.

The prince shall return!

With dinner done and all, I am contemplating if I should get a nap first before waking up to study. Hmm shall decide in a while.

Yes I have bought all the chocolates I need and those ordered by people. It was NO JOKE buying them and carrying them up the hill onto the campus. Very tiring and all. Not to mention, heavy.

Saw a couple caravans around and all. You know, one of the little things I would love to do someday is to travel from state to state in a caravan. To drive, sleep, eat and what not, in a caravan on the move. Wow…

With just 2 more sleeps to exam day, am gonna keep things short here. But I’ll share a couple pictures with you guys meantime. It seems ratings on this site has gone up, with more hits. Almost 3000 last week. Think I shall attribute it to the photos hah hah..

A photo I took for claypot. I found this garden to be pretty pretty (hmm..?). It looks very nice up front indeed. On the way down I saw the owner working on the lawn so I took this on the way up instead heh heh..

In soon li’s room. That’s how our rooms look like from one side. And from L-R, Brien, Prince, Theora and Soon Li.

That’s how it looks like on entering Penbryn hall in this campus where we hold residence.

Ah these are shots from constitution hill where we took the shots of the sunset. Aint it beautiful?

Caravans!

These are what I have for you all! Some are for friends, the rest are ordered. The prized one? The Kit Kat Tiramisu. Here’s the question. How much did all these cost? In SGD. Closest guess wins a tiramisu?? Ok to help you a little, there are a total of 20 bars of chcolates out there, cause some are stacked up so not entirely visible. *hee hee* It is FUCKING heavy alright…

And this is the infamous horse ladies and gentlemen. You do know which horse this is, don’t you?

Trouble Sleeping Corinne Bailey Rae lyrics
Artist: Corinne Bailey Rae
Album: Corinne Bailey Rae
Year: 2006
Title: Trouble Sleeping

It’s late and I’m feeling so tired
Having trouble sleeping
This constant compromise
Between thinking and breathing

Could it be I’m suffering
Because I’ll never give in
Won’t say that I’m falling in love
Tell me I don’t see myself
Couldn’t I blame something else
Don’t say I’m falling in love

Some kind of therapy
Is all I need
Please believe me
Some instant remedy
That can cure me completely

Could it be I’m suffering
Because I’ll never give in
Won’t say that I’m falling in love
Tell me I don’t see myself
Couldn’t I blame something else
Don’t say I’m falling in love

Cause I’ve been there before
It’s not enough
So nobody say it
Don’t even say it
I got my eyes shut
Whoah, no
Whoah, no, no, no

Could it be I’m suffering
Because I’ll never give in
Won’t say that I’m falling in love
Tell me I don’t see myself
Couldn’t I blame something else
Don’t say I’m falling in love

Don’t say that I’m falling in love
Don’t say that I’m falling in love
Don’t say that I’m falling in love
Don’t say that I’m falling in love

Don’t say that I’m falling in love
Don’t say that I’m falling in love
Don’t say that I’m falling in love
Don’t say that I’m falling in love

Yes, that’s the song playing in the background here. Fresh out of the CD this year, it puts me in a dreamy, sensual mood when played. With the right lights and ambience, I’ll probably go tripping to the land of serenity. It is also the official track for this uk trip of mine, as with a couple more official songs for the different trips I have been to. Music just does it for me. It sooths, rejuvinates, destresses and time stamps different milestones and events in my life. I cannot imagine how life would be with it. If you love music the way I do too, good on you!

Very quickly, exams will be in 3 days time. It also means 3 more sleeps before I am out of here and back in London. The trip has come and gone so quickly suddenly. Suffice to say I have always looked at it as an academic trip but friendships were born. Took my mind off things. It kinda reminds me of army somewhat. My patented copywrited trademarked one liner “Sad to leave but happy to go.” I know I will miss the people here, the place, the scenary, the life, the weather and what not. Alas there is no one heaven on earth.

It’s a lot like how things were in the army. Living independently in my own room with people you get to know here. Getting the stuff you need. Budgeting blah blah. I suppose Princess Rach can add onto that a whole lot, but I see the link between this and army. It will probably go down the same note too and it will be pretty much a memorable part of my life. Loads of photos, vids and all that we took that will take me back to the times I had here regardless of when I view them. Did I already say, I am an emotional being?

So then, yes, I will miss loads here. Loads of great stuff here for sure, but there are great things and people awaiting back home too. I do miss them, and I have bought stuff for them. My friends here were saying, “Why do you keep thinking of your friends and buying stuff for them, what about yourself and what you like?” And I go, well I buy things for myself too you know.. but I know these folks back home will like what I have for them as much as how much I like what I got for myself.

I quit my job days back. I have thought bout it all year and to be honest, I didn’t intend to tender yet. Was thinking of keeping my bullet proof vest on still and all but I suppose it came to a stage where I decided, it is time. So what will I be busy with when I am home? Apart from getting back to things back home and adjusting here and there, I will be working on my final project which is really important in order to finish off my course on a good note. I will also be working on my music spins and who knows where that will go and what I intend to do with it. Princess mei mei Rach will be back home soon too and I do miss her a whole lot. And we are gonna do our birthdays together with a few friends at my resident nightclub. I haven’t even spent a bday with friends before but this year I decided to change all of that.

Gonna head to bed and all and while I think of the folks back home and reminiscent on the part of my life here in advanced (I know I am a sucker when it comes to doing all these silly things), I do hope everyone is safe and sound back home. I will be back soon folks. But just so that you know, I will be happy to go but sad to leave..

It has been an excellent weekend indeed of walking around, chatting with classmates, having a WHOLE lotta fun and all. I know I will miss all these when I am back in SG seriously. Chatting bout the light hearted stuff to more serious topics like marriage and living with in laws and how we would like our home to be like. A really invigorating 2 days of mingling around. It is pretty quiet around since all the other hall residents have already left.

Loads of shopping too for clothes and chocolates! You want some eh? Well you have to belong to at least one out of the 2 groups of friends to get some :P

Okay okay well if you want, not too late to drop a note still. I trust you will like the chocolates. Shant elaborate for now. You will have to try it yourself. haha.. But stocks are limited and cargo space is very limited, so priority will be given.

Saw quite a few jumpers and shirts that I know are definitely my ex’s type. After much deliberation I decided not to get any..

You all can shoot me for it but I don’t really care *shrug*

On a happier note, I got quite amused by this lot of words that popped into my PM box :

Halo halo halo…
Its Monday again…
Suffering from Monday blues again?
Well, look forward!!!
Weekend will arrive in no time!!!!

This is a smart, young and boyish looking executive…
Sincere, simple and caring are some of my attributes…

Chances and opportunities are the same…
Once you missed them, it will be gone forever because they don’t come knocking on your door twice!!!
Hence, Grab it!! Catch it!! Seize it!!

The ball is currently in your court…
To kick it? Toss it? Or abandon it?
You make the choice!!
It’s your call…

(Pls: it’s a chance not to be missed)

hahaha is he selling himself, or some product. I don’t really know. Don’t really bother either.

Pictures pictures, okay will throw another few for you guys!

Taken in front of the old uni, in town.

All of us at the italian restaurant. The ambience is really nice and the food is REALLY good.

Bruchetta, a good french white wine, main course and dessert. WOW! For 5 people the bill came to less then 100 SGD. Paid around 14.5 pounds each on average.

Do you see what you should be seeing? The person who took the photo and the ’cause’ of it seemingly, is NOT me. It was really hillarious though! Gosh… a gay horse? Yes my friend is a male. Best part? Another female horse came along, and the..errm… ‘thing’ shrunk really quickly within seconds. REALLY quickly. We have the vid. I don’t know if I will ever put it up though.

By the sea with hassan.

Arpana and Hetal with the prince.

Ah yes by the way, I’ve put up a new track up here. Thanks Theora for sharing. Really love it a lot, will do another track from the same artiste soon. Hope you folks will like it too. It is exam week so hopefully I won’t be wandering around here too much. Last call for orders and requests to buy, before I close everything. Cheers all!

Just back from town and loads of shopping! Guess I got something for most of the people I wanna get stuff for. Shall I release the name list? heh heh…

Was chatting with princess rach. She was saying she used to be like a mouse who raided the fridge for kit kats her father hid hah hah.. And I said neh you are a rat. Rats are survivors. Mice are like animals they cage up and use for testing. I suppose she meant mice are cuter and all and not something someone will go after for stealing food like how a rat is like. Rats are least prefered, perhaps cause they are big, dark in colour and scary looking. Scavengers so to speak. And I’m like, but they are one of us fellow living things on earth too. The brits are a great friendly bunch indeed. Back home, as much as the government tries to make us believe we are religiously and racially harmonus, is that the gospel truth though? Is there any link in terms of prejudice, in the way we treat certain animals and how we treat human beings of different race and nationality?

Hmmm.. deep question for a tired and sleepy me today. We were all tired out by the long nights working on the assignment that was due yesterday and just as we dozed off we were woken up by the fire alarm last night at 4am! The sky was brightening up already by then but the temperature was still cold so imagine all of us out in the open in our pyjamas.

But we did have a great time yesterday and today. Weather was great and sunny!

The sun setting. Going going gone! Was about 2130 hrs and it took bout 4 mins before the sun set fully. Pretty quick! Also realise I have never witness a sun set before. hmm…

Climbed a little and into this neat cave we got into .I left my mark on the walls of the cave! shhhhh…

Ah. We were all craving for some local food so we trooped into this place and I had my beef hor fun. Well I couldn’t taste my food fully but I guess it wasn’t so bad. There was a joke going around this picture taken. Can anyone figure it out? :P

Both nick (not in picture) and brenda were vegetarians for the day. Nick saw spring onion fried rice and Brenda ordered a chilli fried rice. And it REALLY came as chilli fried with plain rice. Gosh! But for all its plainess, it wasn’t that bad. Sam, on the right, couldn’t believe what he saw one bit though.

Picture of all of us (group B) by the beach. Woo hoo! Great sun gives great pictures!

Okay that’s enough pictures for now. Will do more next time.

Okay we have kit kat in original, mint, caramel, milk and dark chocolate flavours. I do plan to bring some back. Anyone wants any? They aint cheap but if you want, place your orders in the comments and I’ll try my best. Subject to availability and space constrains! Terms and conditions apply!

Gosh. Been really busy. Busy trying to recover from fever, cough, blocked nose and what not. Ah yes my body sorta gave way to the weather around me. It’s sad. But I’m a lil better now.

We have been busy with our programming also. Developing an expert system with AI capabilties. Supposedly. But based on requirements, we could have done it in any language and not in CLIPS. The theory behind fuzzy logic and uncertainty factors are pretty, well, fuzzy too. But we’ll get through them eventually.

The temperature here at night can be pretty drastic, falling to sub zero degrees and all. Strange, at a time of this season and all. Stranger things have happened I reckon.

Anyways I had better get back to the codes and all. Here’s a couple more pictures to whet your appetite with, literally.

An LCD sized pizza anyone? It is 14 inches wide!

We walked up 45 mins from our campus out of aberystwyth literally, and this sheep heard us and came galloping over. It seems it likes chocolate?

Ah at least something loves the prince. This sheep, grateful for the dinner we fed it, gave the prince a kiss. It licked me I swear! That was after the kiss. So sweet!

Keen and the prince, just taken today. I love my jumper. Don’t cha? Thanks mei mei!

Up at harlech castle which we went to over the weekend.
