A soak to remember

Mar 22, 2009 in My Shout Outs

I was chatting and I got reminded that I have yet to post up more pictures and the video from Phuket, so it was down to MacDonalds (or Maccas as how Rach likes it) for dinner, supper, drinks, chats, smokes, read my book, and basically to disturb the hell out of Rach.

But it has been somewhat of an enlightening evening that I’ve had and I can see why Jay’s so into this Andrew Matthews series of books. The one I read’s Follow Your Heart. I will be blogging more about it as the days go by cause I think I found quite a few things pretty enlightening. Some are reminders, some are new perspective to how we could look at things around us in a more positive shade.

I have been banging away on this comp for hours trying to get the video to work and at least on my end I see the control bar disappear after the video begins. I have set it not to autorun. You may need to right mouse click and select stop/run/pause accordingly. You may also like to stop the background music that is on autorun by default by clicking on the controls to your right, just beneath the polls section. I am DEAD tired but I can’t sleep till I get this up. Such is the way I am.. Plus I got very peeved by someone. Let’s just say, I am not someone whom you can contact and use just cause you are drunk and horny. There were other things but I am ticked off enough to remove the person from my list of contacts.

*** Warning – Explicit vocal content! ***
*** Apparently as I mentioned above, right mouse click on the video to run it. Seems like IE users have problems with Firefox users are fine. I disabled right clicks on this site you see. :P

So that’s us in our Jacuzzi room. The jacuzzi’s outside and believe me it is almost in full view of everyone facing us! However there weren’t any rooms opposite us and it was really nice! The bubbles flowed everywhere, the way I like it.. you know.. the foam overflowing.. all the way downstairs (we were on the 5th floor)! Music courtesy of DJ CharlesMing’s (err.. that’s me) Revelations 2008. I would love to try it again. The jacuzzi, the room, the cable channels, the spa, the seafood, the sun and the beach… lovely!

Any takers?:P

Coming up, more pictures, insights from Andrew Matthews, days of MY life, and more! ZZZzzz time….

“In order to get rid of a temptation, you have to give into it”

Mar 21, 2009 in My Shout Outs

That was a line from someone I used to chat with some 12 years ago. It was a tag line on his profile and it sorta stuck in my head all along. Somehow. In a way that I cannot describe.

Alright let me dig into something which quite a few had been asking for a while. And tonight I think I shall just do it, after getting some comments from Oxy bout it. Initially I was apprehensive in stating exactly, what do I look for in a partner. There are a few reasons.  One, it will appear that I am seeking for someone, which is not true. Secondly, it becomes like a job interview. If you think you fit the bill, then you pounce on it, else you walk away. But this isn’t a job interview (even though the fundamentals are similar, such as the interview being more important than how you match up to pre-requisites save for those in professional services), where never could very well be never. In relationships, never say never.

Thirdly and more importantly, it would be like a one way street. It could sound like “I want this kind of person and that kind of person”. Sure, but it has to be 2 ways right. What can I offer the other person? I might find someone who fits it all but still lacks chemistry, or the affections are not reciprocated.

But I have been convinced by Oxy to do it anyway.

I am gonna kick off a couple things about me. Nothing secret. Begin with the really basic and superficial stuff.

First of all. Music. As you can hear from this page here itself, I like vocal jazz. Vocals in general are great. From the 70s, 80s till today.  Notice I said vocals. So that excludes screaming and shouting to the tunes of heavy metal. You’ll hear a few sets done up by me here as well under DJ Charlesming on the right so generally, a broad spectrum of music but I’ll put it as contemporary. Mostly English tracks yes. The number of Chinese tracks on my list is like…  you can count with the fingers on 2 hands.

So if you look at my iTunes on an average night where it comes up with the so-called sappier tunes, and on other nights I call out a whole different genre for listening. So peering into the screen shot,  I see Stop and Stare on the list (wow!), also Gavin Friday’s Angel, as well as the ones from Elaine Paige and Journey. I sorta grew up with these and Class 95FM and naturally they are my music choices.

To be frank I am quite distracted with a mountain of MSN messages and chatting with Oxy. I told Oxy quite a few things that I wouldn’t tell those who aint friends cuz I don’t wanna have the possibility that people try to be the person I need, instead of being themselves.

I am also quite uncertain if I still wanna continue along this ‘self declaration’ of sorts. What do you folks think? Should I state what a potential partner would be like? Or what I think is suited for myself. Or maybe I shouldn’t post any at all?

Let me know your views.. and I’ll decide later. No views = likely I will not proceed, preferring to keep things private still.

Have a good weekend meantime!

What a testicle Thursday – “I screwed up 33% of my teenage life”

Mar 19, 2009 in My Shout Outs

I swear I just found this picture in my library up here somehow and it was meant to be a continuation of  the “And you thought you had a bad day..” I think it has been an almost terrible week, save for the excellent shopping/yum cha/botak jones session yesterday. You know, it felt good to be on leave and out while everyone else is working. Kinda miss that feeling. It feels goooooooood.. Perfect for the sit-down coffee places and even cheaper movies. I shall do it all over again, when I have enough money!

So that’s from oxy who popped it up on my messenger. Very cute eh? But he’s doing artistic stuff so I suppose this cow can draw! But if a cow can’t give milk, then all it is gonna be headed for is to be steak on someone’s dinner plate? I am not so intrigued by people doing portraits but to see someone doodle, is kinda, sexy. I can’t believe I just said that on a blog…

I came across this on a blog so I shall do it as well just for fun -

Put an “x” against the things you’ve done before. Multiply final score by 3. Tag your friends. Then repost this & put the Title as “I screwed up __% of my teenage life”.

It was just one clenched fist, one open hand and bringing them together, is it vulgar?!?! I had to stay back till everyone had left. Stupid bitch made me cry. What does OBAMA stand for?

Mar 17, 2009 in My Shout Outs

I am going on leave! Nice! So since I am in a pretty good mood, here’s a joke for all of you.

So what does president elect OBAMA stands for? The answer, coming up, soon!

Meanwhile, another birthday shout out to bunny! So many Pisces around me. And the best part is all the march pisces are pretty much the same…

So there you go! Have a good remaining week! In case you are having a REALLY bad time, well, remember it could have been a lot worse.. as seen in the picture above!

Today is..

Mar 17, 2009 in My Shout Outs

Someone’s birthday.! One this day I wish him happiness and success in the following year, and many more years to come! *blowing kiss* As a friend of course.

Pictures of you

Mar 16, 2009 in My Shout Outs

Can anyone spot themselves in the picture? It is the IT Show crowd over the weekend at suntec convention centre.

What is the problem with the photo? The photo, and me, do not gel together. Hell no. It looks like they were giving away computers or something. Good gracious.

And guess what. Perfect crowd to commit an act of mass destruction. I shall not say more lest someone takes that to the next level…

I guess I am a paranoid freak *L*. But I won’t be there unless I have to buy LOADS of stuff to make it all worth while.

And if I have to buy LOADs of stuff, I probably won’t need to go there… hmm.

What type are you?

Mar 15, 2009 in My Shout Outs

Came across this from someone so I did an analysis -

http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

I am-

Your Type is
INTJ

Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
56 50 62 67

Based on analysis of a Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging-

To outsiders, INTJs may appear to project an aura of “definiteness”, of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that most INTJs start building at an early age. When it comes to their own areas of expertise — and INTJs can have several — they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how. INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don’t know.

INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes their interest. What prevents them from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is the pragmatism so characteristic of the type: INTJs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion “Does it work?” to everything from their own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing the INTJ from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake.

INTJs are known as the “Systems Builders” of the types, perhaps in part because they possess the unusual trait combination of imagination and reliability. Whatever system an INTJ happens to be working on is for them the equivalent of a moral cause to an INFJ; both perfectionism and disregard for authority may come into play, as INTJs can be unsparing of both themselves and the others on the project. Anyone considered to be “slacking,” including superiors, will lose their respect — and will generally be made aware of this; INTJs have also been known to take it upon themselves to implement critical decisions without consulting their supervisors or co-workers. On the other hand, they do tend to be scrupulous and even-handed about recognizing the individual contributions that have gone into a project, and have a gift for seizing opportunities which others might not even notice.

In the broadest terms, what INTJs “do” tends to be what they “know”. Typical INTJ career choices are in the sciences and engineering, but they can be found wherever a combination of intellect and incisiveness are required (e.g., law, some areas of academia). INTJs can rise to management positions when they are willing to invest time in marketing their abilities as well as enhancing them, and (whether for the sake of ambition or the desire for privacy) many also find it useful to learn to simulate some degree of surface conformism in order to mask their inherent unconventionality.

Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ’s Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations.

This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider half the fun of a relationship). To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand. Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. :-) This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete’, paralleling that of many Fs — only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness.

Probably the strongest INTJ assets in the interpersonal area are their intuitive abilities and their willingness to “work at” a relationship. Although as Ts they do not always have the kind of natural empathy that many Fs do, the Intuitive function can often act as a good substitute by synthesizing the probable meanings behind such things as tone of voice, turn of phrase, and facial expression. This ability can then be honed and directed by consistent, repeated efforts to understand and support those they care about, and those relationships which ultimately do become established with an INTJ tend to be characterized by their robustness, stability, and good communications.

I think it seems to describe me quite well. On relationships, on work, on intuition, and on the lack of empathy as ‘Fs’ people.

Oink Oink!

Mar 13, 2009 in My Shout Outs

Good evening my darlings! TGIF! Sitting in my cool cool room, in my playboy pjs, tuned to love songs on Class 95FM. Couple songs came up.. songs that I kinda like. Duffy’s Warwick Avenue which has something in it that captivates me somehow, and Steve Perry’s Foolish Heart. R&B weekend on Class 95, coming up! Don’t forget BPM, Sat night!

What shall we talk about. hmm. Let’s talk  bout Porky who’s somewhat popped into my life. Granted yes I was the one who dropped Porky a message to comment bout the contents in the profile, and we pretty much took it from there. Daily text messages and chats here and there. I know Porky visits this blog so it can be quite a ‘dangerous’ thing but let’s see where this goes.

Back to that career profiling which I promised.

I did one just the other day, by picking out the first link on the search engine just to see if it appeared again. And here are the results-

* Artist
* Historian
* Banker
* Novelist
* University Professor
* Photographer
* Vet
* Paralegal
* Graphic Designer
* Online Content Developer
* Webmaster
* Producer
* Managing Director
* Nutritionist
* Advertising
* Nursing

Profiling always says I am creative and suited for artistic ventures, like being an artist, singer, and entertainer. I can’t draw to save my life and I can’t sing for nuts. It is very strange. Another one that usually comes out is ‘songwriter’. This one has vet and paralegal but I won’t look at it too intensely, after all it was a 5 min one. The other I tried doing was 30 mins long and I pretty much gave up.

Artist! I can draw a cat, and a pig. Seriously. I can. But you won’t be able to tell the difference between the two!

I’m having such a bad headache right now and I think unchain melody on the radio isn’t helping somewhat. So I am gonna pen off from here. What’s up next. Sashimi on Sunday yay! And I am gonna clear some leave next week. Company says don’t store too much leave and they want some cleared as leave’s a cost liability to the company. I believe they wanna shore up their next quarter results. Don’t they all. My customer whom I provide services to is putting up a voluntary unpaid leave scheme. From 5-15 days, in a bid to reduce staffing costs without massive retrenchments.

Wanna know more bout porky? Why do I call him porky, and what porky calls me. Goodness, pet names already so soon eh? More, coming up soon!

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!

I had a visit…

From a baby moth. Who fluttered around when I walked into my bathroom. I came back out and when I went back a minute later it was no longer around.

Was it you… Kelvin?
